This month was busy, in the best way possible. It’s my first year truly celebrating Pride Month and feeling confident in who I am, so I definitely went all-out. Here’s a wrap up of this month, with some highlights of books I read, places I visited, movies I saw in theaters, and more!
Events This Month:
JerseyPride Parade
Company Picnic at Oak Tree Lodge
Shira’s Party at Jade Eatery and Lounge
New York City Pride
Shows I Watched:
The Originals: Impatiently waiting for season five to wrap up so it’ll go on Netflix
Movies I Saw:
Ocean’s 8: Saw this twice in theaters and looking to see it one more time before it leaves theaters. Everything about this movie was phenomenal from the powerful, female cast to the storyline that had me on the edge of my seat. Highly recommend!!
Incredibles 2: Do you like Pixar? (If the answer is no, what is wrong with you?) If the answer is yes, go see this movie. I loved the strong female characters and the storyline. And experiencing Sophia Bush voicing a superhero was amazing for me, for obvious reasons!
Books I Read:
The Hazel Wood – Melissa Albert (3.5/5 stars)
Caraval – Stephanie Gerber (2/5 stars)
The Butterfly Garden – Dot Hutchison (4.5/5 stars)
The Outsider – Stephen King (4.5/5 stars)
Favorite Instagram Post: The one from NYC Pride
Favorite Tweet: My reaction to iHOP’s name change (I am still bitter…), and this one makes me happy as well:
Favorite Article: One of my best friends wrote an article for pride month that discusses companies and how they support the LGBT+ community and whether they truly support it or just are using this month’s celebrations to make a profit. Check it out!
Favorite Blog Post: My post on decluttering your tech. If you own a smartphone, you can benefit from it!
June was great, and I can’t wait to see what July holds for me!
I’m ridiculously impressed that you read four books in one month haha. Also, thanks for the shout out 🙂
