Fall Beauty Staples

Fall Beauty Staples

Fall is my favorite season. I always love the feeling of the crisp air, the sunny days and cool nights, going apple picking clad in a flannel and boots, and being spotted sipping a Caramel Apple Spice at Starbucks.

But with the changing seasons, not only will your wardrobe be shifting from tanks and shorts to sweaters and flannels, it also means the humidity is plummeting, the wind is picking up, and your skin and hair may need extra TLC to recover from countless hours of sun exposure, high humidity, and salt water.

To help arm you with some products that will help combat all the effects of a new season, I’m going to share some of my fall staples and personal favorites!

Skin:

Miscellar Water – I use Miscellar Water to remove my makeup because it dissolves all traces of makeup, even waterproof mascara, and is gentle and doesn’t strip the natural oils in my skin.

Fresh Rose Toner – Toners are so underrated in my opinion! I love the toners made by Fresh because they last forever, make my skin feel extra clean, and help hydrate my skin. This one contains rosewater and rose flower oil to help soothe and nourish the skin, and hyaluronic acid which helps your skin retain moisture.

Vitamin C Serum – Spending too much time in the sun can lead to hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tone. To combat this, nothing beats a vitamin C serum. I use Olehenriksen TruthSerum, which is a blend of vitamin C and collagen. It helps give me that dewy, natural glow and even skin tone.

Fresh Vitamin Nectar Glow Moisturizer – Finding the right moisturizer is essential, so I recommend speaking to an expert who can help you find the right product for your skincare needs. For me, my skin tends to be more on the drier side but can still feel oily by the end of the day and this one is my favorite. Similar to the vitamin C serum, it’s packed with vitamins that help my skin glow and combat dull/uneven skintone. It’s also very lightweight and a little goes a long way, so it lasts me a while!

Hair:

Olaplex Hair Perfector  – Summer means sunshine, heat, highlights, and saltwater. Your hair desperately needs a little assistance with reversing the damage in order to get your locks ready for fall. If your hair doesn’t feel completely hopeless, I’m obsessed with the Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask from Briogeo. But if you need something to completely repair your hair to its naturally, healthy state – check out the Olaplex!

Makeup:

Bite Beauty Agave Lip Balm – My least favorite part of cooler months, aside from the actual brutally-cold weather we get in the tri-state area, is chapped lips. Back when I was on Accutane for six months, this was the only chapstick that seemed to help. It’s also the only chapstick I’ve ever actually finished before misplacing or throwing away. It’s seriously that good and I recommend it to everyone. Worth every cent. It also layers beautifully under any other lip product you choose to wear!

Make Up For Ever Foundation – In the summer, I use a CC cream as foundation since I want a lighter-coverage look and the one I use by It Cosmetics has SPF 50. But for the fall, I switch to MUFE’s HD foundation because it has buildable coverage so I can cater it to the occassion and how much foundation I need.

So there you have it: a few of my go-to beauty staples. If you are looking for recommendations on specific products, let me know and I’m happy to give you my favorite ones to try.
