August 2019 Wrap Up

August 2019 Wrap Up

It’s been a while since I’ve posted on here, but lately, I’ve really been aching to start actively posting again. So, to get back into the habit of posting, I’m going to jump right back in as if I haven’t taken nearly a full year off from blogging (I am so sorry!) by giving you a wrap up of my month like I used to!

A lot has changed in a year. New friendships, relationships, so many exciting new travel adventures…. the list goes on. I’ll be sure to post some of the highlights of my year and what has changed. But, for now, here’s a recap of the past 30 days!

Highlights:
Comic Con in BostonWent for the second year in a row. Last year, Boston was my first convention I had attended. Since then, I’ve been to a handful of others, including one in New Jersey and another in Las Vegas that is catered toward LGBT actors, characters, YouTubers, activists, and more. The year, Hatti and Helen flew here from London to join my local group of friends and we all stayed in South Boston. We spent most of our time exploring the town and eating our way down Newbury. We also went on a whale watch, which was amazing! Oh, and we spent a day at Harvard’s campus roaming around and enjoying the perfect weather.
Reunion with my College RoommatesWe don’t get to see each other as often as we would like, so it’s always amazing when we can catch up and spend a weekend together over dinner and drinks. We went out to a popular bar at the shore and a group of men called us old, so that was an experience…
Trish and Renata’s Bridal Shower: Trinata are couple goals, for sure. I can’t wait for their wedding in October!
My Best Friend Came to Visit: Erika came home from Los Angeles for a week to visit, and we had an incredible home-cooked meal with her family.
Finished My Latest Story, War of HeartsI’ve been working on this for the majority of the summer, and it will be revealed within the coming weeks along with the artwork.

Shows I Watched:
Buffy The Vampire Slayer (Hulu) – I haven’t watched this since middle school and still adore Sarah Michelle Gellar.
The Society (Netflix) – LOVED THIS. Highly recommend if you enjoy dystopian stories!
What/If (Netflix) – I didn’t love it as much as I thought I would, but it was intriguing.
Once Upon A Time (Netflix) – Yes, I know I’ve watched this show 500 times…

Movies I Saw In Theaters:
I didn’t get a chance to go to see anything in theaters this month. The last movie I saw in theaters was Booksmart, which I highly recommend!

Books I Read This Summer:
The Kind Worth Killing – Peter Swanson (5/5)
The Silent Patient – Alex Michaelides (5/5)
Her Every Fear – Peter Swanson (4/5)
Before She Knew Him – Peter Swanson (3.5/5)
highly recommend these books to anyone who loves a psychological thriller. You won’t regret it!!

Favorite Instagram Post: While we were at Harvard, we spent an hour lounging in the grass on Harvard’s campus and Helen and I took this picture! I also love this picture from Asbury Pride earlier this summer where I look as happy as I felt.

Favorite Article: As much as I love sharing my ideas and processes around how I manage time and structure my calendar, I love to read about how others use their calendars to make their days more productive.

What I’ve Been Listening To: I recently made a Brooke Davis playlist, so for all my One Tree Hill fans, check that out. Also, would I be human if I didn’t call out Taylor Swift’s new album? I’ve had it on repeat all week. Can you guess which song is my favorite?

Goals for September:
Get back into blogging more often (I have so many ideas and drafts!)
Post some of my poetry that I’ve written in the past few months
Work on revamping my budget
Read three books
Edit the story I’ve been working on
Kickboxing twice a week

What I’m Looking Forward To in September:
I leave on Monday to go to London for a week, and I’ll be there on my birthday to celebrate it with Helen. We’re going to Harry Potter World so if you know me well, you know how excited I am for this! (I got us matching shirts to wear). Also, my latest story reveal is approaching this month. I also have my college roommate’s bachelorette party in the Hamptons (which I’ve never visited before, so that’ll be a new adventure for me). My sister is also planning to come visit at the end of the month and I’m really excited to see her!

So, for those of you who are still with me and have managed to make it to the end of this post, tell me… what are some of your new favorites from this month? Favorite song on the Taylor Swift album? Any new artists or movies or shows or books to check out or add to my list? You know I love a good recommendation 🙂
